Are you or do you know anyone that receives the Low Income Household Rebate?  Here’s a trial that you may want to investigate from the NSW Government.

The Trial offers 2.5 kW solar systems for up to 3,400 eligible households who choose to forgo the Low Income Household Rebate.

Households that participate in the Trial have the potential to save more than $300 each year on electricity bills. This is potentially DOUBLE what the rebate offers.

To be eligible to apply for the Trial you must:

  • own your own house (ie not be renting or in strata or a residential community)

  • hold a Pensioner Concession Card or Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card

  • currently be receiving the Low Income Household Rebate

  • not already have solar power

  • be living in one of these areas:

    • Central Coast

    • North Coast

    • Sydney – South

    • Illawarra – Shoalhaven

    • South Coast

The Trial will be rolled out in mid-2019, after the Government selects suppliers to do the installations.

If you rent or live in a residential community, retirement village or strata building unfortunately you are not eligible for this trial.
